WPCNA Sustainability Expo

The Hudson Valley Energy Consultants will take part in the WPCNA Sustainability Expo on Saturday, June 5, 2010 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at the new Post Road School at 175 West Post Rd in White Plains, NY 10606.

The Expo is sponsored by the White Plains Council of Neighborhood Associations (WPCNA) in partnership with the White Plains School District.

It will feature talks and exhibits focused on “applied sustainability” – things individuals, home, building and business owners can do now to make difference.

Participants include students as well as government, business, non-governmental agencies, and community groups.

Green Day Celebration and Summit

The Hudson Valley Energy Consultants will take part in the Green Day Celebration and Summit sponsored by the Eastchester Environmental Advisory Committee for Bronxville, Eastchester and Tuckahoe residents. Green Day is Saturday, June 13, 2009 from 10 am to 4pm at the Eastchester Town Hall, 40 Mill Road, Eastchester, NY 10709.

Green Day will feature:

Exhibits,including by the Audubon Society, Greenburgh Nature Center, the County’s Veggie Van, composting, solar energy, green roofs
Vendors with green products, giveaways, farmer’s market, home products, delicious healthy food from local restaurants
Speakers discussing local green legislation, organic gardening, making your home more energy efficient, greening your landscape, global warming

Clean and Green: White Plains

The Hudson Valley Energy Consultants (HVEC) team goes "on the road" again to participate in Clean and Green: White Plains on Saturday, May 30, 2009, from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm on Mamaroneck Avenue between Main Street and Martine Ave. The FREE free environmental event will feature educational displays, team members sharing expertise in environmental science, law and policy, green vendors, food and entertainment. HVEC principals Peter Bell and Frank Lessa look forward to meeting you and answering your energy conservation questions.

Chappaqua Environmental Forum

Hudson Valley Energy Consultants (HVEC) took part in the The First Chappaqua Environmental Forum at the Seven Bridges Middle School on Saturday, May 9, 2009 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The student-run Environmental Forum included workshops on a variety of topics, including

Going Green
Global Warming
Recycling 101
Alternative Energies
Water Use & Abuse

The Forum also hosted booths from school, community and local environmental groups -- like HVEC -- which provided additional information and resources on how to protect the environment. Refreshments were available, and students who pre-registered received organic Forum T-shirts.

HVEC at Westchester Home Show

The Hudson Valley Energy Consultants (HVEC) team discussed home energy audits and energy conservation with visitors to the Westchester Home Show on the Pace University Campus at 861 Bedford Rd, Pleasantville, NY 10570. The Home Show, which was held on Saturday, January 24, 2009 from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm and on Sunday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, introduced hundreds of homeowners to thermal imagery, blower door tests, and other energy auditing tools and techniques. Energy Fair at the Pepsi Bottling Group

Bryant Gardens Energy Fair

HVEC's Frank Lessa (left) and Peter Bell were the headliners at the Bryant Gardens Energy Fair Picnic in White Plains, NY. The Fair, which was held at the Playground on Bryant Crescent, launched the cooperative housing development's two-year plan to reduce energy overall consumption by 20%. Also participating in the Fair were the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority and Con Edison. Residents enjoyed the Aladdin table at which the co-op exchanged new energy-efficient fluorescent lamps for old incandescent bulbs.
